MEET DR. MARIA LINDER, DAc., LAc., AEMP
M.S. Acupuncture and East Asian Medicine, Bastyr University
B.A. Theatre & Worldview Studies, Minor Ancient Greek, Ursinus College

After growing up a bit, but not too much. Maria enjoyed a wonderful career as a theatrical stage manager, touring North American theaters and coffee shops, and settled in Seattle where she went through a divorce and began working on herself via talk therapy. Through this work, Maria realized that she felt pretty disconnected from her body, so she was looking for some bodywork that could be done in conjunction with talk therapy/EMDR and without knowing much about acupuncture she tried it out. It was exactly what she needed. The rest is history, as they say.
Maria believes healing happens in connection—through listening, presence, and care. She brings a warm, community-centered approach to acupuncture, creating space for patients to feel seen and supported in their journey. With a deep curiosity for how the body holds emotion, she is especially drawn to working with pain conditions, digestive health, and women’s health. Whether addressing physical discomfort or emotional imprints held at the cellular level, Maria meets each patient with empathy and intention.
Maria specializes in acupuncture as a holistic and energetically-informed medicine. By working with the body’s meridian pathways, she helps identify and clear blockages that may be contributing to pain, stress, or internal imbalances. She often integrates whole plant medicine into her practice, drawing on the full spectrum of a plant’s constituents to support the body’s natural resonance and healing capacity. This layered approach honors the body as an interconnected system—physical, emotional, and energetic.
With roots in both the embodied and the imaginative, Maria sees acupuncture as a medicine of pattern, presence, and possibility. It bridges her lifelong love of plants and the land, her background in theater and story, and her fascination with how the body stores emotion on a cellular level. She is especially drawn to working with pain conditions, digestion, women’s health, and trauma. Acupuncture, for Maria, is not just a treatment—it’s a way of being in relationship with the body’s wisdom, and with each other.
Healing is a process, not a quick fix—and you don’t have to do it alone. Let’s be curious together.
